William J. Raftery, CPA is the recipient of the AICPA's 2001 Outstanding CPA in Government Award and currently serves as Controller of the State of Wisconsin. In this position, he supervises all accounting, financial reporting, cash and asset management and internal auditing for state government. His Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for Wisconsin has received the Government Finance Officer’s Association award for Excellence in Financial Reporting. Mr. Raftery has been an audit partner with KPMG Peat Marwick in New York and Controller of the State of Missouri. He is currently a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council representing NASACT and serves on its executive committee and as chair of its committee on Communication/Public Relations. |
